LYRICS:

The trope of returning,
recurrent speech.
A zoetropical wheel
on life's beach.

This is a place I often find myself,
a topical island.
Robinson Crusoefied
in motifs and stylings.

Trapped
in the tropic of topics.
My topics
are starting to feel quite myopic.

Is it because I'm only using one eye
to look forward?
Even if it is the one
in the middle of my forehead.

And can I really say
I'm using foresight,
if the same ideas
are the ones that are most forthright?

Vague archaic philosophies.
Vogue esoteric philanthropy.

This snake
is wearing old skin.
It's keeping
the newer one in.

Getting stuck on branches
taking in sand.
This sea snake
doesn't belong on land.

Biting my tail
holding on for infinity
Never achieving
my want for divinity.

So the cycle restarts,
with little new hope,
as I return to this
same old recurrent life trope

Recurrence pains me,
circling back around.
Same old,
same old.
The wheel turns again,
the constant spin of Karma.
Known to some
by the moniker Samsara.

A cycle of rebirth,
demanding lessons to be learned.
Until a sense of peace,
can be truly earned.

To recognise the absurdity
of clinging to a false self,
and holding onto an ego
that should be placed upon the shelf.

To accept the unexpected,
accept the bad and good.
Acceptance is the key
to a life that's understood.

But acceptance doesn't make you better
it doesn't make it good.

It just makes you accepting.
